Inspired by our new Slimy Lime play dough, especially for Halloween, we thought we'd share our family's favourite slime recipe with you!

I know, I know. When I say slime you want to run and hide. If your only experience of slime is from a free plastic pot attached to a kid's magazine then I really don't blame you. It's runny, stringy and oh so sticky. But let me tell you a secret, slime doesn't have to be like that! We've tried making slime a number of times now and I can promise you that Imagination Tree's Fluffy Slime is the best around. It is perfectly stretchy, satisfyingly squishy and really not sticky at all.

Slime is the perfect accompaniment to halloween play and you can really make it your own by adding your favourite colour of gel food colouring or glitter. Once you've made your slime I'd add in some plastic spider figures or pairing it with some pretend eyeballs would be super fun (and a little gruesome!) too.

Imagination Tree's Fluffy Slime Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup PVA glue

1 tsp bicarbonate of soda

Gel food colouring

1 tbsp contact lens solution (it must contain boric acid, not all brands do so make sure you check!)

1-4 cups shaving foam

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, add 1 cup PVA glue and a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda and mix well. If you want to add colour or glitter to your slime then this is the best time to do so to make sure it mixes in properly. For Halloween play I think a lovely lime green slime would look amazing!

Once the colour has been mixed in thoroughly, add 1 tablespoon of contact lens solution and stir in well until the mixture starts to come away from the sides of the bowl in a stringy consistency.

Now add your shaving foam! Add as much as you want and mix until you have a lovely stretchy and super duper squishy slime.
